The client lived in a small 1880’s cottage and wanted a porch to match. A reconstituted stone was chosen which matched well the original stone work. There were several challenges. Firstly there was a soak-a-way pipe right in the way and the height of the upstairs window meant the pitch was too low for a slate roof.

So we excavated and poured footings under the pipe and bridged it with lintels in the masonry. The boys at Eurocell put me in touch with their Equinox roofing system which which incorporates a GRP slate sheets that looks like tiles and can be installed to a pitch of 5 degrees.

uPVC windows and doors, plastered and tiled in the interior the client was delighted.
