The client’s original boundary wall which was retaining next door’s higher elevation had completely failed and was propped up by a pipe wedged between the two properties!
The wall was safely taken down and new footings excavated and poured. The width of any foundation for a retaining wall is important to facilitate a ‘toe’ to make it stable and resist the lateral forces of the mass it is retaining. Steel reinforcement is laid in the concrete during the pour and hollow concrete block laid over and grouted.
Rendered with a sand and cement finish.
