The client, a discerning retired architect, wanted to future proof his recently acquired home. The original pointing had began to fail as had the render to the gable end of the property and the whole building needed a repaint.
Scaffolding erected and the old pointing was removed to the front elevation, joints cleaned then re-pointed with a 5:2 sand and NHL 3.5 lime. Front gable wall was rebuilt to roof verge and side gable wall was stripped of cracked cement render and replaced with a three coat system of lime. The render on the gable end was then painted with a mineral paint system to allow the render and wall to breath.
All other elevations to the back were painted with a normal masonry paint x 2 coats and the mono pitch roof repaired. Pictured also the entrance housing to the basement at the rear, clad in composite cladding with a new fibreglass roof.
