Rinzaffo waterproof lime

Pictured here a lime bagging job to the back of an 18th century cottage in Carnkie. The ground level outside was higher than the floor inside and so unsurprisingly there were damp issues. A French drain was installed at foundation level but we still needed to tank below ground level to the bell cast. The interior and exterior of the cottage we had already renovated with lime and so we were reluctant to use a cement based tanking which would only trap moisture in. The solution was an Italian product called Rinzaffano, a pozzolanic lime made with volcanic dust which is waterproof, breathable and salt resistant! Here is the link to Core Conservation who supply this product for any homeowners or builders out there.
