Here at D.P.Hatley Building Services we take on complete GRP (fibre glass) flat roofs, pitched (slate/concrete tile) roof repairs and chimney stack repairs and re-builds.
GRP roofs are the way to go for any flat roof project with a much greater longevity than mineral felt or rubber. Normally the old roof will be completely removed with a new deck of T&G Sterling board installed with trims and then base and top coated with fibre glass and resin. These roofs come with a 30 year guarantee.
The perennial problem of leaking roofs? Especially here in Cornwall with horizontal rain! Failed mortar in ridge tiles, broken tiles, old lead flashing, perished roofing felt and rotten water damaged timbers are common problems which we can repair to stop further water ingress and make your roof watertight. This may involve just the guaranteed replacement of a few tiles or a complete roofing trim.
Chimney stacks are susceptible to water ingress in many roofs. Often failed pointing, flaunching and flashing and/or the lack of lead soakers or a chimney tray are the cause. Sometimes it is more viable to take the old stack down and renew. All apron, back gutter and saddle joints are welded and step flashing cut in.
New guttering and replacement fascia and soffit boards as detailed in our Maintenance section are regularly undertaken
